NORRA Mexican 1000

The "NORRA MEXICAN 1000" is right now for a five-day rally style off road race covering over 1250 miles from Ensenada all the way to San Jose del Cabo.

This year mark this legendary races 50th anniversary It was started back in 1967 by Ed Pearlman and Don Francisco waived the first flag right after starting the first racing sanctioning body devoted solely to off-road racing the National Off-Road Racing Association (NORRA) in 1966. The first event, the Mexican 1000 (1967), began in Tijuana, went through Ensenada, and finished in La Paz and it this race was held for nearly a decade while at the same time setting the groundwork for the classes and categories used after that.

In 2010 the Mexican 1000 came back to Baja now with a rally race format setting it apart from the normal straight through race to the finish style Baja races. Now the new and improved Mexican 1000 race giving us some new category's ready to showcase older model race vehicles

The classes are "Pioneer" for 1967-1975 model vehicles, "Legend" 1976-1982, "Challenger" 1983-1987, "Vintage" 1989-1997, "Historic" 1997/older, "Evolution" for modern machines and of course your ATV and moto classes.
